Passports must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay in Namibia and have at least three blank pages for entry and exit stamps.
Passport and visa regulations are subject to change, and airlines may have different requirements. Information is correct at the time of writing; travellers should check with the relevant embassy before departure, particularly when transiting through a third country. Not all EU nationals are exempt from visa requirements when travelling to Namibia.
Nationals from the following countries require a visa to visit Namibia and are eligible to obtain a visa on arrival or apply online in advance:
Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Madagascar, Mauritania, Niger, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Sierra Leone, Togo, Tunisia, Western Sahara Republic, and Uganda.
Other countries: Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Cambodia, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Moldova, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Vatican, Venezuela, and Vietnam.
Nationals from countries not mentioned here are advised to contact the nearest high commission/embassy for visa requirements for Namibia.
For visas on arrival, the fee is NAD 1,200 for nationals of African countries and NAD 1,600 for other nationals.
For other visa types, fees vary depending on the applicant's nationality and where the application is made.
Visa on arrival can be applied for online through the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security e-services portal (https://eservices.mhaiss.gov.na) or obtained at designated ports of entry, including Hosea Kutako International Airport, Walvis Bay International Airport and selected land border posts.
