Ngurah Rai Airport Guide (DPS)
Ngurah Rai International Airport is the third busiest in Indonesia; and is the main airport serving the ever-popular tourist hotspot of Bali. Browse our Ngurah Rai International Airport guide for information on how to get to the airport, where to stay nearby and facilities within the terminals.
Information desks (tel: +62 361 935 1011) are located in the arrivals areas of both terminals.
From Denpasar, follow JL Teku Umar to Jl. Pulau Batanta in Dauh Puri Kauh, then take Jl. Pulau Enggano to Jl. Raya Pemogan in Pemogan. Follow Jl. Raya Pemogan and Jl. By Pass Ngurah Rai to Jl. Airport Ngurah Rai in Kuta.
Public Transport
Bus: A public bus runs from the airport to central Denpasar (journey time: 50 minutes) but its departure times can be infrequent and sporadic (ask at the airport’s information desk for assistance). For this reason most visitors choose to use either a shuttle or taxi service to travel to their destination.
Shuttle: A cheaper alternative to the taxis is an abemo (shared minibus), which can generally be found a short distance from the car park. In addition, many hotels operate courtesy shuttles to and from the airport.
Taxi: Taxis are available outside Arrivals and operate on a pre-paid voucher system. Vouchers are sold at the official taxi desk close to the airport exit. Expect to pay roughly Rp. 80,000 for a journey to Kuta and around Rp. 125,000 to Denpasar. Tickets can be booked online or at the airport. Journey times vary considerably depending on traffic.
Terminal facilities
Paid-for Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout Denpasar Ngurah Rai International Airport; access cards and SIMs are on sale in several airport shops. Public telephones are also available to passengers within the terminals.
Left luggage facilities, which double as the airport’s lost and found office (tel: +62 361 935 1011), are located near the entrance of the International Terminal.
Airport facilities
Fax, photocopy, secretarial and internet facilities are available in an executive lounge in the International Terminal. A number of other VIP lounges are located in both terminals.
Meeting and conference facilities are offered by several local hotels, including the Novotel Bali Ngurah Rai Airport (tel: +62 361 936 0200; www.novotel.com), which has direct access to the terminals.
There are three parking areas at the airport. The Multi-Level Car Park is located outside the international arrival terminal and is the biggest with 730 spaces. Both the regular parking and premium parking areas are located outside of the domestic area and have 545 and 300 spaces respectively. There is also separate parking for motorcycles on the north side of the airport.
Thrifty, Toyota, Hertz and numerous local operators are represented at the airport. Car hire desks for these operators are located in both the International and Domestic Terminals.
A few minutes from the airport by taxi, the Holiday Inn is a beachfront property built in a quasi-traditional style. It offers meeting space, a beach restaurant, children's club and spa facilities.
Located in Tuban, about five minutes by road from the airport, Radiant Hotel and Spa boasts two swimming pools and a karaoke room, as well as dining and spa facilities set amongst secluded grounds.
Just a short walk from the terminals, the 4-star Novotel is the nearest hotel to the airport. It offers a restaurant serving local and international food, six meeting rooms, several bars and an outdoor pool area.
