Flying to Belgrade
Air Serbia operates direct flights to Belgrade from the UK. Alternatively, there are plenty of indirect options via other European cities with airlines such as Swiss and Air France. Prices are generally cheaper in winter and tend to go up in the school summer holidays.

Two bank branches operate on the ground floor of Terminal 2. Several ATM machines and currency exchange facilities are available throughout the airport.

Travel by road
Summary:
Traffic drives on the right. Speed limits are 120kph (75mph) on motorways, 100kph (62mph) on major roads, 80kph (50mph) on other roads, and 50kph (31mph) in built-up areas. Dipped headlights must be turned on during the day. Visitors to Serbia need a national driving licence, a car registration card and an insurance policy. Routes:
Belgrade lies at the crossing point of the E-70 and E-75, two major roads that connect with other parts of Europe, including the Hungarian city of Budapest in the north and Zagreb to the west.

Coaches:
Eurolines (www.eurolines.com) operates a comprehensive network of buses across Europe with many services connecting with Belgrade. The city's Belgrade Bus Station (Beogradska autobuska stanica) (tel: +381 11 263 6299; www.bas.rs) is located on Karađorđeva next to the railway station and there are numerous bus routes that connect the city with the rest of the country and beyond. Next door to it on Železnička is the Lasta bus station, which deals with destinations that lie closer to Belgrade.
Travel by rail
Services:
There are rail services to Belgrade from Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, Romania and Turkey. Trains from Western Europe travel through Budapest. International trains have couchette coaches as well as bar and dining cars. On some lines, transport for cars is provided. Belgrade's main train station, Železnička Stanica Beograd, is located on the busy Karađorđeva, just a short walk southwest from the city centre.

Among the many regular international services are daily trains from Budapest, Zagreb, Sofia and Thessaloniki. You can look up times and fares at www.bahn.de/en. The easiest way to reach Belgrade by train from the UK is via Paris, Munich and Budapest.
