Vancouver Hotels
Vancouver is home to an exceptional number of first-class hotels, including glitzy skyscrapers in Coal Harbour, renovated downtown heritage properties and hip Yaletown boutique hotels. One to look out for in late 2017 is Parq, a swanky complex with two hotels, a casino and multiple restaurants. There are also a good number of more affordable chains, particularly on and around Granville Street near False Creek.
The Vancouver hotels below have been hand-picked by our guide author and are grouped into three pricing categories:
Luxury (over C$350)
Moderate (C$250 to C$350)
Cheap (up to C$250)
These prices are for one night in a double room in summer, including tax but not breakfast. Prices can be reduced by as much as half at other times of the year.
Lavish rooms in this Coal Harbour hotel feature luxurious Stearns & Foster beds, plush linens and roomy marble bathrooms with TV mirrors. The Willow Stream Spa offers nine treatment rooms, a massive fitness centre and an outside deck with meditation pods and private hot tubs. Or you can lounge by outdoor firepits next to the open-air rooftop pool.
Meticulously restored Rosewood Hotel Georgia once hosted Elvis Presley and The Beatles. Today’s guests are treated to elegant rooms and suites, with delicious nods to the 1920s and 1930s and vast, decadently luxurious bathrooms. You can nip down to dinner at upscale Hawksworth Restaurant, plunge into the saltwater pool, or sip cocktails on the laid-back garden terrace.
Bright modern rooms and swanky two-storey loft suites, many with private terraces, come with high-tech gadgets and comfy pillowtop beds. You can relax in the indoor pool and hot tub or grab a complimentary bike to hit the town or ride the seawall. On-site eateries include a Japanese izakaya, buffet lounge and Bogart’s, serving cocktails and small plates.
