Driving directions

Port Elizabeth Airport can be reached quickly from the city centre via Route 102 which merges onto the M4/Settlers Highway. From there, take a right onto Walmer Boulevard (M9), and then a left down Third Avenue, which leads directly to the airport.

Shuttle: Shuttle services are available on request from Blunden Coach Tours (tel: +27 41 451 4803; www.blunden.co.za). These operate according to flight schedules, and passengers can also book their return journey to the airport in advance. The journey time to the city centre is approximately 10 minutes, and prices depend on the exact destination and size of the group.

There is an ATM situated in the passage between the arrival and departure halls.

Communication

Wi-Fi internet access (the first 4 hours or 500MB of use is free of charge) is available throughout Port Elizabeth Airport. Additionally, there is a post box in the departure hall, and public telephones are available in the arrivals hall, departures hall, and sterile area.

Food

There is a selection of restaurants, pubs and cafes throughout the airport.

Shopping

There are several shops at Port Elizabeth Airport, including gift and snack shops in the departure hall. There is also a clothing/footwear shop in the departure hall. Duty-free shopping is not available.

Luggage

Luggage trolleys are available in the arrival hall (next to the baggage reclaim belts), in the car park, and at the entrance to the departure hall.

Other

Baby changing facilities are available in the ladies' toilets. Basic first aid facilities are available at the airport and chapel and prayer rooms are available upon request. The viewing deck allows passengers to watch arriving and departing aircrafts.

The Landing Strip conference centre is located on the first floor of the main terminal building; catering here is available by prior arrangement. There is also a conference room in the Aero Park Block B (tel: +27 41 507 7418), which can seat up to 30 people. Televisions, videos, overhead projectors and white boards are available for hire.

The South African Airways lounge (+27 41 507 7251) and the Premier Lounge (+27 41 581 6381) are located in the domestic departures terminal. The Premier Lounge is open to any passenger regardless of airline or ticket class.

Close to the airport, the beachfront Radisson Blu Hotel (tel: +27 41 509 5000; www.radissonblu.com) offers a range of meeting and event rooms, as well as a business centre.

Disabled facilities

Facilities for the disabled at Port Elizabeth airport include dedicated toilets and lifts to the first floor, where the business-class lounge and restaurant are situated.
