Singapore Nightlife
Singapore has a vibrant nightlife, with a plethora of fashionable bars and clubs accompanied by diverse dining options. At the same time the city's cultural scene reflects the flavours of the region, with Malay, Chinese and Indian performances, art and music.
The liveliest nightlife is around Mohammed Sultan Road, with nearby Robertson Quay offering classy waterfront venues. The Dempsey Road area is becoming increasingly popular for more refined dining and drinking, while things are noisier at Boat Quay and Clarke Quay. Bars in Singapore
Within the colonial grandeur of Raffles Hotel is the Long Bar, home of the famous Singapore Sling and drinking one is on many tourists 'must do' lists. An intriguing fact is Long Bar is the only place in Singapore where you can litter – guests are allowed to throw the peanut shells on the floor. Note: the bar is closed for restoration until mid-2018. The original Singapore Sling experience is now served at a pop-up located at 3 Seah Street, next to the Raffles Gift Shop.
Perched at the National Gallery with spectacular views of the Padang and Marina Bay, this rooftop bar brings exotic mixology to the streets of Singapore.
Clubs in Singapore
An art gallery by day, lounge by evening and a club by night, Canvas is a small, unpretentious club that plays energetic music to a young crowd.
The iconic Zouk, going strong since 1991, is considered Singapore's pioneer clubbing institution and continues to attract big-name DJs and sophisticated crowds. Set in a former cannery and on two floors, the club consists of the main dance floor, a lounge and a bar.
Live Music in Singapore
A friendly bar in Singapore with live R&B and classic rock, Crazy Elephant is an informal venue which has attracted some music greats. Its wooden décor and graffiti give it a rock authenticity. This is a place to let your hair down and enjoy the music.
One of the best places in town to hear local musicians, and there's a pretty inclusive policy when it comes to genre: you might hear anything from soft rock to metal, via jazz, bossa nova and pop, in English, Mandarin and even Cantonese (a Chinese dialect).
Set behind The Substation performance venue, this is an open-air bar so it may get a bit hot and humid on a warm night. Still, the live music is usually of a high calibre: there are several resident bands playing either pop and rock covers or their own music, plus performances from guest bands.
