Passports

To enter Oman, passports must be valid for at least six months from the entry date.

Visas

Only citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates can travel to Oman without a visa. All other nationals require a visa to enter Oman. However, British nationals, EU citizens, along with Swiss and Turkish passport holders can visit Oman without a visa if:
• The stay is less than 14 days (no extensions).
• The traveller has evidence of a confirmed hotel booking.
• The traveller has health insurance to cover your stay.
• The traveller has a return ticket.

Visa note

A joint tourist visa between Oman and Dubai, or Oman and Qatar is available, provided that the traveller is entering Oman directly from Dubai or Qatar.

Types and cost

A single-entry 30-day visa is OMR 20.00, while a multiple-entry one-year visa is OMR 50.00. A three-day transit visa is OMR 5.00.

Transit

An air transit visa allows you to enter the country only once and stay for a maximum of 72 hours, provided you have sufficient funds and a valid ticket for onward travel. The cost is OMR 5.

Application to

Visit the Royal Oman Police portal (www.rop.gov.om) or the eVisa portal (evisa.rop.gov.om).

Temporary residence

Contact the Oman embassy or consulate. Residence visas can also be renewed on the Royal Oman Police portal (www.rop.gov.om).

Entry with children

Single parents, or other adults travelling alone with children, may be required to provide documentary evidence of parental responsibility on entering and leaving the country. To check what is required, contact the nearest Oman Embassy.

For children under 18 travelling unaccompanied, a consent letter is required from one parent, as well as a photocopy of their father's passport. Children should apply for a visa in advance.
