Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport Guide (CMN)
Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport is located 30km (19 miles) south of Casablanca.
Morocco’s busiest airport and one of the key air transport hubs for North Africa, Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport serves the country’s most populous city, Casablanca. Our guide to the airport includes information about airport facilities, public transportation and nearby accommodation options.
Airport information desks are located in Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Tourist information is also available in Arrivals.
From the centre of Casablanca, take the A7 motorway towards Marrakech. From northeast Casablanca, take the N9 route towards Settat. The airport is signposted.
Public Transport
Rail:A train service (tel: +212 890 203 040; www.oncf.ma) operates from the airport arrivals area to Casablanca’s port and the city centre (journey time: 45 minutes). The trains arrive at the airport railway station located at (-1) level, and are scheduled at every hour from 02h56 to 21h56. This is by far the easiest and most comfortable way of travelling into the city. From Casablanca there are intercity connections to numerous major centres.
Terminal facilities
Banks with bureau de change facilities and ATMs can be found in Terminals 1 and 2. Passengers are advised to change their leftover dirhams before going through security as there is nowhere to exchange money in Departures. Technically the Moroccan dirham is a closed currency, which means it can't be traded outside the country.
Wi-Fi internet is available in Terminals 1 and 2. There is a post office in Terminal 1, and public telephones can be found throughout the airport.
The restaurants and cafés at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport are concentrated in Terminals 1 and 2. Options range from sit-down restaurants serving local fare to a pizzeria in Terminal 1.
There are shops in all terminals selling a range of goods, from Moroccan arts and crafts to electronics and fashion items. Duty-free outlets can be found in all three terminals, although cigarettes and alcohol cannot be paid for in dirhams, only euros.
Luggage trolleys are available at the car park and luggage delivery areas of Terminals 1 and 2, with porters present to help. To protect luggage, passengers can use protective packaging: laminating machines are available in front of the check-in counters at both terminals. In the event of lost or damaged luggage, the ‘Litiges luggage’ service will be able to help.
Airport facilities
Fax, photocopy and internet facilities are available in the small business centre in the main hall at Terminal 1. There are no conference facilities at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport but the nearby Atlas Airport Hotel (tel: +212 529 003 002; www.hotelsatlas.com) houses meeting space.
Lifts and ramps provide easy access to most parts of the airport. Wheelchair transportation can be provided between the aeroplane and the terminal buildings – passengers requiring wheelchairs and special assistance should inform their airline prior to travel. Car parking spaces dedicated to disabled passengers are available in the on-site car parks.
There are two car parks in front of Terminals 1 and 2 with 1,050 spaces each, offering short- and long-term rates.
