Kiev Boryspil International Airport Guide (KBP)
The airport is located 30 km (19 miles) east of central Kiev.
Boryspil International Airport is Ukraine’s largest airport, and is one of two airports serving the country’s capital Kiev. Our Kiev Boryspil International Airport guide provides details on how to get there, where to stay nearby and available services at the airport.
A new terminal (Terminal E) is scheduled to open at the end of 2015, but due to the unstable political situation in the country, it is unknown if these plans will reach fruition.
Airport information desks are available (tel: +380 44 393 4371). There is a tourist information office in Terminal B
From central Kiev follow the Parkova road south – this becomes the Dniprovskyi Descent, and subsequently the Naberezhne Highway. At the roundabout, take the third exit left on to the E40/M03 across the Dnieper River (Pivdennyi Bridge). This road leads directly to the airport.
Public Transport
Bus:The Skybus service provides regular transfers from the airport to the centre of Kiev, terminating at the city's central railway station and operating from Terminals B and D. It also stops at the Kharkivska Metro station. The fare is UAH 50, and journey time is around 45 minutes.
Taxi:Taxis are available outside Arrivals. Avoid touts, who are common at the airport, and proceed directly to the taxi rank outside. Fares start at around UAH 100-125, and the trip should take between 25-40 minutes depending on traffic.
Terminal facilities
Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout Boryspil International Airport. Public telephones, for use by passengers, are also available.
There is a good choice of restaurants, cafés and snack bars in all terminals, in public areas and airside. However, at Terminal D departures (domestic), hot food is currently restricted.
Large duty free outlets offering a wide variety of goods are available in terminals D and F.
Airport facilities
There are numerous lounges and meeting rooms offering premium services of varying levels in all three terminals. A conference room is also available at the on-site Boryspil Hotel (tel: +380 44 281 7105; kbp.aero).
The airport is fully accessible, with lifts and disabled toilet facilities. Designated disabled parking is available immediately opposite the terminal entrance, and there are special meeting points within the terminals for those requiring help. Passengers are advised to contact their airline in advance of travel should they require special assistance.
Car parking can be booked online via the airport website. Short-term parking is available in P1 close to the terminal, while a shuttle service links car parks P2 and the secure P3 to the terminals.
International car rental companies Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt are all represented at the airport.
A short distance from the airport, the Ligena is an elegant and upmarket choice for those seeking a little more luxury. Its restaurant serves traditional Ukrainian dishes, and the hotel also offers spa facilities, a beauty salon and a conference space with room for up to 250 people.
The 32-room Four Seasons offers guests comfortable rooms, sauna facilities and a conference space for business travellers, all within 10 minutes drive from Kiev Boryspil International Airport. The restaurant menu includes local and international offerings and complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout.
Located between the terminals, the Boryspil Hotel is operated by the airport authority, and offers rooms by the hour as well as traditional overnight rates. Accommodation includes apartments, a meeting room and a full service restaurant.
