Information

There are nine information counters at the airport; eight are located on the first, second and third levels of Terminal 1 and one is on the first floor arrival lobby on Terminal 2. Staff at these desks can also help with registration for use of rental wheelchairs and baby pushchairs. Volunteers dressed in orange jackets can also assist with queries.

Tourist and transport information are available from the Chubu Centrair Travel Centre on the second floor of the passenger terminal buildings.

Driving directions

It takes approximately 45 minutes to drive from central Nagoya to Chubu Centrair International Airport. First, head south on the Nagoya Expressway (tolls apply), then merge onto the Chita Hanto Road, before finally following the Centrair Line westwards to the airport.

Public transport rail

Rail: The fastest means of transport between the airport and central Nagoya, the Nagoya Railroad (www.meitetsu.co.jp/eng) transports passengers from Meitetsu Nagoya Station to Chubu Centrair International Airport in as little as 28 minutes. Tickets must be purchased before travel at a vending machine for a fee of ¥870. The Airport Station is connected to the terminal building by a walkway. There are also direct express services to a number of other destinations in the region, and connections from Nagoya via Japanese Railways' high-speed network.

Public transport road

Bus: Buses to many destinations in the region, which are operated by a number of different companies, leave from outside the terminal building. The transfer time into Nagoya is about one hour, and the fare is between ¥1,200 and ¥1,400. Detailed information on other destinations is available from the airport information desks and on the official airport website.

Shuttle: Shared-ride minibuses, known as Noriai taxis, operate to a number of destinations in Nagoya and Ishikawa prefectures. Reservations and fare information are available on the taxi company’s website (www.alpico.co.jp).

Taxi: Taxis arrive at the passenger terminal building on the first floor. Taxi pick-up zones are located on the first floor of Access Plaza in Terminal 1, and on the first floor of the same building in Terminal 2. The fare to central Nagoya is around ¥16,000 and the ride takes about 50 minutes.

Public transport water

Boat: Regular high-speed boat services (www.tsu-airportline.co.jp) operate across Ise Bay to Tsu (journey time 45 minutes). The ferry berth is reached by covered passageway from the airport's Access Plaza. From Terminal 1 it's about a 5-minute walk and from Terminal 2, it is a 10-minute walk.

Money

There is a full-service bank in the main departures concourse on the third level of Terminal 1. Numerous ATMs are available throughout the terminal buildings. Currency exchange services are provided on Terminal 1's second and third floors (arrival and departure areas respectively), the first and second floors (arrivals and derparture areas respectively) of Terminal 2, as well as in the Access Plaza.

Communication

A post office is located on the ground level, while letterboxes can be found on the third level of the Departures Lobby and in the Access Plaza. Free Wi-Fi is available and there are also coin-operated computer terminals.

Food

There are many places offering meals, snacks and drinks at the airport. Several Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Western restaurants can be found, and there are plenty of cafés, bento kiosks and ramen noodle bars. The widest choice is available in the Sky Town area on the fourth floor of the Terminal 1.

Shopping

Most shops are located on the third and fourth levels of the main Terminal 1 building. Among the options are several food shops selling Japanese and local specialities, fashion boutiques, electronics and gadget retailers, bookshops, and outlets selling travel accessories. Duty-free is shopping in both terminals.

Luggage

Coin-operated luggage lockers are located at six different locations around the airport. Temporary storage facilities for carry-on luggage and luggage home delivery services are available on the second and third levels of Terminal 1 and the first and second levels of Terminal 2. Prior to departure, you can also get your luggage wrapped for protection on the third floor of Terminal 1 and the second floor of Terminal 2.

Other

A medical clinic (tel: +81 5 6938 7050) is located on the second floor of Terminal 1 – doctors are on hand at all times to provide first aid and medical care.

Nurseries with baby changing facilities are located next to most of the toilets at the airport. Play areas for children are located in departure lounges after security inspection for both international and domestic flights.

Other facilities at Chubu Centrair International Airport include massage and beauty treatment services, a relaxation area with a Japanese bath and a multi-faith prayer room. The Flight of Dreams complex is centred around experiential aviation learning and the city of Seattle, Washington.

Conference and business

A business centre (tel: +81 5 6938 7227) offering conference rooms and computer rental is available in the departure lobby on the third level of Terminal 1. These facilities must be booked in advance. Rental lounges are also available prior to departure.

Upon passing through the international security checkpoint, there are desks equipped with AC100V power outlets and wired LAN connections that are free to use.

First and business class passengers can make use of the various designated lounges for their airline.

Disabled facilities

All lifts and toilets can accommodate wheelchair users. Parking spaces reserved for disabled travellers are located on all floors of the airport's multi-storey car parks. Wheelchairs can be hired at the information counters. Special accommodations can be made via the Centrair Telephone Centre (+81 5 6938 1195).

Car parking

Long and short-term rates are available at the multi-storey P1 and P2 car parks that are linked to Terminal 1. Reservations can be made via the airport website or by contacting the parking office (tel: +81 5 6938 7779).

Car rental

A car rental information desk is located next to the main airport information desk in the Access Plaza. Among the rental companies represented at the airport are Toyota, Nippon, Nissan, Orix and Times.

Hotels

There are four hotels at Central Japan International Airport; two with direct pedestrian links from the terminal complex, and the other served by a complimentary shuttle. Further accommodation options are available on the mainland in Tokoname city.

A convenient ten-minute walk (or free shuttle ride) from the terminal, the 1,000-room Toyoko Inn is a cheap and cheerful option.
