Driving directions

Milan Malpensa Airport can be reached from the SS336 state road. Take the ‘Busto Arsizio’ exit from the Autostrada dei Laghi (A8), which links directly with Milan.

Public Transport

Public transport rail

Rail: The Malpensa Express (tel: +39 02 7249 4949; www.malpensaexpress.it) trains run direct services from Terminal 1 to Milan Cadorna Station (journey time: 30-40 minutes; fare: €11) and Milan Central Station (journey time: 45-50 minutes; fare: €10). TrenItalia (tel: +39 199 892 021; www.trenitalia.com) and Trenord (tel: +39 800 500 005; www.trenord.it) services connect to other destinations in the region.

Public transport road

Bus: STIE (tel: +39 0331 519000; www.stie.it) buses operate from both terminals to Milan Central Station. There are also services to Milan Linate Airport, Sesto and Torino, among other destinations.

Coach: The Malpensa Shuttle Air Pullman (tel: +39 0331 258 411; ticketonline.malpensashuttle.it) links both terminals to Milan Central Station, stopping on request at the conference and exhibition centre during Milan fair events (journey time: 50 minutes; fare: €10).

Taxi: Taxis are available from outside Arrivals at both terminals. The fixed fare to central Milan is €90.

Banks, bureaux de change and ATMs are available in both terminals.

Communication

There is a post office in Terminal 1. Public telephones and fax facilities are available in both terminals. Paid-for Wi-Fi access is available throughout Milan Malpensa Airport.

Food

There is a good selection of places to eat and drink in both terminals. These include plenty of Italian pizza/pasta restaurants and cafés serving coffee and cakes, as well as a specialist eateries serving a variety of cuisines.

Shopping

There are numerous shops at Milan Malpensa Airport, including duty-free for non-EU passengers, newsagents and gift shops. Unsurprisingly, given Milan’s fame as a centre of fashion, there are plenty of clothes boutiques and jewellery retailers to explore, with the likes of Armani Jeans, Boggi, Bulgari and Burberry. For motorsport lovers, there are Ferrari merchandise outlets in Terminal 1.

Luggage

Other

There are chemists and first aid offices in both terminals. Interdenominational chapels are open to those seeking prayer, with Catholic mass held at certain times. Travel agencies and transport tickets desks are available in the arrivals areas. Dedicated baby change and feeding areas are located at various points within the terminals.

The Sala Amica (tel: +39 02 232 323) courtesy lounge in Terminal 1 provides telephones for the hearing-impaired, as well as newspapers and magazines in Braille. Wheelchair assistance is available and there are lifts and ramps for access, as well as disabled toilets and telephones in both terminals. Designated car parking spaces for disabled travellers are available at both terminals, and the shuttle bus connecting the terminals is wheelchair-friendly. Disabled passengers should inform their airline of any special needs when making their flight booking.

Short- and long-term parking, operated by SEA Parking (tel: +39 02 7486 2646) and APCOA (tel: +39 02 5858 1069), is available close to Terminal 1 – APCOA provides covered parking spaces that are linked directly to the terminal by a walkway. SEA Parking also provides long-term and economy parking close to Terminal 2, with a shuttle bus connecting to Terminal 1. Valet parking is available at both terminals.

Car hire companies located at Milan Malpensa Airport include: Auto Europa, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Locauto, Maggiore, Sixt and Thrifty. Desks for these operators are located on the first floor of Terminal 1, while Avis and Europcar also have offices in Terminal 2.
