Goa International Airport Guide (GOI)
Goa International Airport is located 2km (1.2 miles) from Dabolim. State capital Panaji (also known as Panjim) is around 30km (19 miles) away to the north.
Goa International Airport, also called Dabolim Airport, is an international airport located in the city of Dabolim in Goa, India. Our Goa International Airport guide provides crucial information about the airport, including details of terminal facilities, public transport routes and nearby accommodation options.
There are information desks both in the domestic terminal and the international terminal. Tourist information desks are available in International Arrivals, and taxis immediately outside.
The domestic and international terminals are housed in the same building.
From Panaji (Panjim)), the State’s executive capital, take the Mala-Patto Bridge road towards highway 66 (Panvel-Kochi-Kanyakumari Highway). Follow highway 66, and after crossing the Cortalim Bridge, take a right onto highway 366; this road leads directly to the airport. The total drive time from Panaji to the airport is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic.
Public Transport
The nearest railway stations are Vasco da Gama and Dabolim, both can be reached by local bus or taxi. Train services, provided by Indian Railways (www.indianrail.gov.in), are available to a number of destinations nationwide.
Bus: Local buses, which are often very crowded and not very frequent, run to Chicalim and Vasco da Gama nearby.
Taxi: Pre-paid taxis are available at Goa International Airport. The pre-paid taxi service counter is located outside the terminal building. Fares to Panaji start from INR 870 (journey time: 45 minutes). The airport strongly recommends that no-one, including locals, use any other taxis due to scammers.
Shuttle: Goa Tourism runs a shuttle service for the route Calangute-Panaji-Goa Airport. There are only two trips daily, but the fare is low; INR 150 for passengers to Calangute, INR 100 to Panaji. Locally operated minibuses also provide links with Panaji. If travelling on a package holiday, transfers will most likely be organised by the tour operator, and many hotels in the region offer free shuttle services.
