Accra Kotoka International Airport Guide (ACC)
Accra Kotoka International Airport is situated about 8km (5 miles) northeast of Accra city centre.
The largest airport in Ghana, Accra Kotoka International Airport is also one of West Africa’s main air transport hubs. Our Accra Kotoka International Airport guide includes contact details as well as information regarding terminal facilities, public transport access and nearby accommodation options.
A third terminal is currently under construction, and is due to be completed by the end of May 2018.
There is an airport information desk and a Ghana Tourist Information counter in the main arrivals area, as well as customer service in the departure areas of both terminals.
From Accra, head north on Patrice Lumumbra Road towards Odoi Kwao Street, then turn right onto Dr Amilcar Cabral Road. Continue onto Airport Road and take the second exit at the roundabout.
Public Transport
Taxi: Taxis are the best way to get to Accra city centre and can be found at Aerostar car park. The airport taxi service, Labour Enterprise Trust Co., runs metered taxis and charges GH¢ 10.00 for the first kilometre and GH¢ 0.10 for every additional 100 meters of your trip. Public pool taxis without metered rates are also available to and from the airport, giving customers the opportunity to bargain for reduced fairs. Additionally, a number of Accra hotels will provide shuttle services to and from the airport; these should be arranged in advance.
Terminal facilities
Currently, Wi-Fi access is only available in the departures area. Card phones are located at several points throughout the terminal; cards are available from the post office and some shops. A post office is also situated in the airport.
There are a few shops at Accra Kotoka International Airport covering basic needs, as well as duty-free outlets.
