Public transport rail

A rail shuttle service (tel: +49 180 699 6633; www.bahn.de) operates from the German mainland to the island. The station is situated 1km (0.6 miles) from the airport. Trains from Leck on the mainland to Sylt take around 1 hour and cost €9.70.

Public transport road

Bus: Regular island buses (tel: +49 180 583 6100; www.svg-busreisen.de) operate services radiating from the railway station close to the airport to various parts of the island.

Taxi: Sylt Taxi (tel: +49 4651 5555; www.sylt-taxi5555.de) operates cab services on the island. Prices depend on the desired destination.

Conference and business

There are no meeting facilities or lounges located on-site at the small Westerland Airport. However, some of the island's larger hotels offer meeting rooms, including the Hotel Miramar (tel: +49 4651 8550; www.hotel-miramar.de) which is about 2km (1 mile) from the airport on the west coast of the island.

Disabled facilities

The small airport complex is all on one level, making it easily accessible to passengers in wheelchairs. Any passenger who may require additional assistance is advised to contact their airline before travelling.

The airport car park is immediately outside the terminal building.

Car rental

There are no hotels located on-site at Westerland Airport. However, Sylt's status as a traditional holiday resort means that the island is well supplied with guesthouses and small hotels, along with one or two larger options.
