Driving directions

From the city centre, take the Tallinn-Tartu motorway (Tallinn-Tartu-Voru-Luhamaa) southeast and follow signs to the airport. The journey is between 15 and 20 minutes long.

Public Transport

Public transport rail

Tram line 4 stops on the city side of the passenger terminal. Tram services Monday through Saturday begin at 0525 and end just after midnight. Sunday services begin at 0545 instead. The journey to the city centre takes about 17 minutes, and tickets can be purchased online or from the driver for 1 and 2 Euros respectively.

Public transport road

Bus: The airport is served by public buses 2, 49 and 65 that leave from the bus stops at the front of the departures and arrivals halls. Timetables are available online (soiduplaan.tallinn.ee).

Bus 2 runs every 30 minutes during the day and links Tallinn Airport to the city centre (bus stop Viru Keskus at A. Laikmaa Street). Tickets can be purchased from the driver for €2 per trip).

Shuttle: AirportTransfer (tel: +372 5559 9659; http://www.airporttransfer.ee) offers minibus transfers for up to 6 passengers (fare: €21).

Taxi: The taxi stand is located in front of the arrivals hall. Taxi companies serving the airport include Tulika Takso (tel: +372 612 0000;www.tulika.ee) and Airport Taxi (www.airporttaxi.ee) . Fares into the city range from €5-10 – be sure to use one of the officially appointed taxi services.

Terminal facilities

Money

There are bureaux de changes in both the public area and after security control. In the secure zone, the bureau de change also acts as an ATM. There are also bureaux de change and ATMs in the public area of the terminal building. VAT refunds are subject to approval by the Tax and Customs Board.

Communication

Free Wi-Fi Internet access is available throughout the airport, as well as at one of 14 static booths (all of which have Skype installed). Additionally, there is a post office on the first floor, on the concourse between Departures and Arrivals.

Food

There is a café in the public area on the second floor (by the lift) offering a good range of dishes and great views of the airfield. There is a selection of cafés, snack bars and restaurants in the departures area, including a sushi restaurant and a pub, as well as a wine bar.

Shopping

Departure area shops sell a wide range of products including perfume, cosmetics, clothes, liquor, confectionery, tobacco, travel accessories and souvenirs. A separate duty-free shop sells similar items for non-EU passengers. Specialist shops include Sockdrawer, Klick Digistore and Wine Shop Rosin, as well as various retailers selling souvenirs, candy and toys.

Luggage

Lost and found services (tel: +372 605 8313 [for items valued at less than €50] or +372 605 8430 [for items valued over €50]) are located in the arrivals hall. Luggage lockers can be found on the ground floor. A porter service is available to help guests with luggage. Clothes storage is also available for departing passengers heading to warmer climes. Baggage wrapping is also available, starting an hour and a half before flight departures.

Other

Among the other facilities at Tallinn Airport are baby changing facilities and various travel agencies. Dedicated lounges are available for smokers, as is a book exchange library in the departures lounge. Safe deposit boxes are also available at a cost of 1 Euro per 24 hours. A gallery located on the second floor displays works from various artists and has a new exhibition every few months.

Airport facilities

Conference and business

The airport houses a business lounge (tel: +372 605 8550) complete with workstations, office equipment and meeting space. Business class travellers of designated airlines and VIP membership cardholders may use these facilities free of charge, while economy passengers can enter for a €30 fee. The Zeppelin presentation room, Forest presentation room and Lake presentation room are also available for hire.

Disabled facilities

Tallinn Airport has lifts, ramps and toilets for wheelchair users(+372 605 8288). Special wheelchairs for transporting disabled people to and from the aircraft are available upon request from the airlines. Designated parking spaces for disabled passengers are located in front of the terminal building. Any passengers who may require additional assistance are advised to contact their airline before travelling.

Car parking

Car park A3 offers short-term parking and is located directly in front of the passenger terminal, with an entrance from Tartu Road. Other short-term parking is located in car park A4, and long-term parking should be done in car park A2, which is a short distance from the terminal. The first 15 minutes of parking in all short-term car parks is free of charge.

Car rental

Car hire companies represented at Tallinn Airport include: Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Dollar Thrifty, Enterprise, Alamo, National, NU Car Rentals and Sixt. All car rental desks are located in the public area of the terminal.

Hotels

There are no on-site hotels at Tallinn Airport, but with the airport’s close proximity to the city there are plenty of accommodation options available nearby. Tourist information and assistance with hotel booking is available in the terminal.
