El Alto International Airport (La Paz) Guide (LPB)
The airport is located at Al Alto about 13km (8 miles) southwest of central La Paz.

An information desk is located in the main hall, and a tourist information desk is also available, which can help with hotel reservations.
From central La Paz follow National Route 3 north out of the city. This doubles back on itself, heading southwest and then merging with Route 1, which directly passes the airport entrance road.
Public Transport
Bus: Buses (route 212) run from outside the terminal to the main La Paz bus station. Journey time is about 45 minutes, and fares start at about US$1 each way.
Taxi: Cabs are available outside Arrivals. It’s advisable to agree the fare before getting in the car. Average price to central La Paz is around US$10, and the trip takes 20-30 minutes.
Terminal facilities
Public telephones are available in the terminal, and Wi-Fi access is offered in various cafés.
Most shops at the airport offer local crafts and souvenirs, but duty-free goods are available in International Departures.
Luggage lockers are available, and the lost and found desk is located near baggage reclaim.
Airport facilities
There are no meeting rooms at the airport, but basic business services can be found in the three VIP lounges. More extensive meetings and business facilities can be found at larger hotels in central La Paz, including the 5-star Hotel Presidente (tel: (2) 240 8601; www.hotelpresidente-bo.com).
Free open-air short term parking is available outside the terminal, while more secure covered long-term parking is located close by.
Hertz and Avis are among car hire operators represented at El Alto International Airport.
This 5-star hotel close to the centre of La Paz is about 15 minutes by taxi from the airport. It offers two restaurants, meeting rooms, a business centre, and free Wi-Fi access. There is also a leisure centre with spa and covered pool.
Also about 15 minutes by taxi from the airport, the Sajamo Hotel is a less pricey option in the 3-star bracket. It has a restaurant offering local and international food and free WiFi access. English is widely spoken by staff.
One of the closest hotels to the airport, the Alexander Palace isn’t quite as grand is it sounds – however, it offers mid-range accommodation within minutes of the terminal. Meeting rooms are available and there is a range of eateries nearby.
Hotel Milton

A budget option in the heart of La Paz, Hotel Milton is within easy reach of the airport. It has a café/restaurant, an outdoor terrace, and a meeting room with capacity for up to 100. Airport transfers can be arranged.
