Formerly known as Kastrup Airport, Copenhagen Airport is the largest airport in Scandinavia and is located a short distance from Copenhagen city centre. Airport news

Terminal 1 closed in March 2015, leaving all passenger flights being handled by the interlinked Terminals 2 and 3.


Information desks (tel: +45 3231 3231) are in the arrivals areas and transit halls of Terminals 2 and 3. There is also a visitor centre in Terminal 3.

Transfer between terminals

All terminals and piers are interlinked and are accessible on foot, but there is also a free shuttle bus serving Terminals 2 and 3. The CPH Go pier, which serves low-cost carriers easyJet, RyanAir and Transavia, is linked to Terminal 3.

Driving directions

From central Copenhagen, head southbound across Langebro Bridge and continue along Amager Boulevard and Amagerbrogade. From here, follow the signs to the airport complex. The total drive time from central Copenhagen to the airport is approximately 20 minutes.

Public Transport

Public transport rail

Rail: There are direct high-speed trains to Copenhagen Central Station (journey time: 10 minutes), as well as several other destinations in Denmark (tel: +45 7013 1415; The station and ticket office are situated in Terminal 3.

Metro: The Metro (tel: +45 7015 1615; M2 line connects the airport to the city centre (journey time: 15 minutes; fare: DKK36). The station is situated in Terminal 3 where tickets can be purchased.

Public transport road

Bus: Several buses (5A, 35 and 36) run from Copenhagen Airport to the city centre (journey time: approximately 55 minutes; fare: DKK36) and other destinations in and around Copenhagen. Bus 5A also runs at night. Buses are run by DOT (tel: +45 7015 7000;

Long-distance destinations in Denmark and Sweden are served by a several other operators.

Taxi: Taxis pick up passengers from ranks outside Terminal 3. The ride into Copenhagen takes about 15 to 20 minutes, and prices start at around DKK250. Taxis to Malmö are also available.

Terminal facilities


Banks and ATMs can be found in both terminals. Those looking to exchange currency can also use the bureau de change in Terminal 3.


Free Wi-Fi is available throughout Copenhagen Airport. Post boxes are also available.


There are plenty of bars, cafés and restaurants at Copenhagen Airport, offering everything from seafood to fast food. Places to eat include a restaurant serving Danish fare post-security in Terminal 3, a steakhouse, hot dog kiosks and a couple of restaurants in the on-site Clarion Hotel Copenhagen Airport.


There are plenty of different stores at the airport, with designer boutiques, newsagents and duty-free shops among the many options. There is also a good selection of shops selling the best of Scandinavian fashion and design. A pre-order and pick-up service is available.


A lost and found facility (a database of all found items is available online: is located within the airport, while self-service luggage lockers are available at car park P4.

Conference and business

The nearby Clarion Hotel Copenhagen Airport (tel: +45 3250 1501; 29 meeting rooms, 14 of which are directly located in Terminal 3 of the airport. They also have a ballroom for up to 500 people. Various airlines and handling agents also provide business facilities in their executive lounges in Terminals 2 and 3.

Disabled facilities

Copenhagen Airport is physically accessible throughout, with an Assistance Centre located centrally in the building. Lifts, ramps, wheelchair-accessible toilets, induction loops and reserved seating are provided, while dedicated parking spaces are available in the car parks. Passengers who may require additional assistance are advised to contact their airline before travelling.

Car parking

There are more than 10,000 car parking spaces in short-, medium- and long-term car parks at Copenhagen Airport. Short-term parking options are directly linked to Terminals 2 and 3. Medium-term rates are available close by to the terminal buildings. Economy long-term parking is a little further from the terminals (free transit buses are provided from these areas). The airport parking office (tel: +45 3231 2902) is located between Terminals 2 and 3, and is open 24 hours.

Car rental

Car hire companies represented at Copenhagen Airport include: Avis, Europcar, Budget, Sixt, Enterprise and Hertz in Terminal 1. The car rental centre is outside the main airport buildings, west of Terminal 2. Free shuttle buses are available to transport passengers to and from the car rental centre.


There is one hotel located on-site at Copenhagen Airport plus a transfer accommodation facility. Several hotels can be found in the surrounding area, one of which provides a free shuttle service – while there are many more options in central Copenhagen and across the Øresund Bridge in Malmö.

The Clarion Hotel is located at the airport, with access via a covered walkway from Terminal 3. A range of dining, fitness and business facilities – including 29 meeting rooms – are available here for use by guests and non-guests. They also have a ballroom with a 500-person capacity.
