São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport Guide (GRU)
The main aviation hub serving the sprawling city of São Paulo in Brazil, São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the country. Our guide to the airport includes relevant contact information, as well as details about transfers, terminal services and nearby hotels.
General expansion projects, including the construction of additional runways, are on-going ahead of the 2016 Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games. A long-term plan to extend Line 13, also known as the Guarulhos Train, to connect the airport’s train station in Guarulhos to the Engenheiro Goulart Station in São Paulo is underway and set to become operational during late-2015.
There are Infraero information counters (tel: +55 11 2445 2945) in the departures and arrivals areas of Terminals 1 and 2. Tourist information is provided by the ABAV-SP (The Brazilian Association of Travel Agencies of São Paulo) (+55 11 2445 3484) with desks similarly located on the arrivals floors of Terminals 1 and 2. Comunicação Social can also assist with specific enquiries (tel: +55 11 2445 2256 or 2891).
The two main terminals (Terminals 1 and 2) are situated in one structure, close enough for passengers to walk between them. Shuttle buses connect Terminal 4 to Terminals 1 and 2 and the car parks.
To reach São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport, take either Ayrton Senna or Presidente Dutra highways eastbound from the city centre.
