Driving directions

The best way to reach the airport from central Manama is to follow Palace Avenue and Shaikh Hamad Causeway to Muharraq. Then follow the signs to the airport.

Public Transport

Public transport road

Taxi: Metered taxis are available 24/7 at the multi-storey Car Park B (short & long-term car parks), which is right in front of the Terminal Building. There are three taxi operators – Bahrain Taxi Group, Speedy Motors, and Arabian Taxi. The journey time to Manana is about 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

Bus: Local buses A1, A2, 10 and 11 are available at Zone 4A, accessible via Exit 3 or Exit 4 on the Arrivals level. The fastest route from the airport to Manana (city centre) is via Bus A2. Passengers can pay cash (BHD 0.300 per trip) or buy a GO card from the driver (BHD 1) that charges slightly less per trip. Shuttle: Many Manama hotels offer courtesy shuttle services for their guests.

ATMs are at the Arrivals, while currency exchange services are available throughout the Terminal Building.

Free Wi-Fi internet access and telephone services are available at the airport. Computers with network access are available at the lounges.

Food

There are restaurants and cafés throughout Bahrain International Airport. These include pizza restaurants, fast food outlets and a Sports Lounge.

Shopping

Bahrain International Airport has a wide range of duty-free shops in the Departures hall. Passengers can find anything from Bahraini souvenirs to international brands. Alcohol and tobacco are also available.

Luggage

For lost and found or mishandled baggage, seek help from Baggage Services at either the Baggage Claim area or at the Arrivals Meet and Greet area. Passengers can also call +973 17138553.

Other

A pharmacy is located in the Arrivals hall, while the Airport Clinic (+973 17138777) is on the eastern side of the Terminal Building.

Ablution facilities and prayer rooms are located near Gates 14 and 19 in the Departures and Arrivals areas, respectively.

Designated smoking areas are available in the Arrivals area (Level 00), and in the Departures area (Level 02, between Gates 14 and 15, and between Gates 18 and 19).

Car parking

Car Park B is the closest car park to the Terminal Building and it offers both short- and long-stay options. On Level 1 and Level 2, there are also dedicated spots for passengers with reduced mobility.

Car Park D, just a short bus ride away, is for long-term passengers. A free shuttle runs every 15 minutes between Car Park D and the Terminal.

Valet parking service is also available.

Car rental

International car hire companies include Budget, Hertz and Sixt, along with several other local operators. Car hire desks are located in the public Arrivals area on the ground floor of the Terminal, opposite Gates 1 and 2.

Hotels

Bahrain Airport Hotel is the on-site hotel, located off the main concourse at the Departures area (Gate 15). In addition, there are many hotels within a short drive away.


The 5-star Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain is situated across the road from the Bahrain International Airport. This luxury hotel has restaurants, free Wi-Fi, a bar, a large outdoor swimming pool and extensive meeting and conference facilities.
