To enter Azerbaijan, your passport must be valid for at least six months from your date of arrival and contain at least two blank pages.
You can only enter Azerbaijan by air without restrictions. Entry via land or sea borders is currently restricted, and leaving Azerbaijan by road is also subject to restrictions.
Anyone who has previously visited the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh without permission from the Azerbaijani authorities may be denied entry to Azerbaijan.
Visa-free
Citizens of several countries—including Albania, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Morocco, Russia, Serbia, Türkiye, Ukraine, and the United Arab Emirates—can enter Azerbaijan visa-free for tourism purposes. The permitted length of stay varies depending on nationality.
eVisa
Nationals of the following countries can obtain an eVisa to visit Azerbaijan for tourism purposes: Albania, Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belgium, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Djibouti, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Republic of Korea, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkmenistan, United Kingdom, United States of America, Vatican City, and Vietnam.
Tourist visas usually have a validity of 90 days but the length of time you can stay in Azerbaijan will be shorter than that.
No transit visa is needed for onward travel within 24 hours of arrival in Azerbaijan, provided you remain in the airport.
