Passports

Nationals referred to in the chart above must have a passport valid for the proposed duration of their stay.

Nationals who require a visa to enter Argentina must have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entering Argentina.

Visas

Nationals referred to in the chart above can visit Argentina for up to 90 days without a visa.

British citizens: you must get a visa if you are travelling on an Emergency Travel Document.

Nationals not referred to in the chart are advised to contact the nearest Argentine embassy for further information.

Types and cost

Tourist visa: USD $150 or EUR €150, depending on the Consular office where the application is filed. The fee must be paid in the equivalent local currency. Visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs webpage (cancilleria.gob.ar) for the requirements.

Validity

Tourist visa: 90 days.

Transit

Passengers staying for less than 12 hours within the airport waiting for connecting international flights do not need to go through immigration control or apply for visas.

Download the form (cancilleria.gob.ar) and contact the nearest Consulate office.

Temporary residence

There are several categories under Temporary Residence, so it is best to check with the Dirección Nacional de Migraciones first.

Working days

Expect 10-15 days.

Extension of stay

Visa-exempt tourists can apply for a 90-day extension to their visit at the Dirección Nacional de Migraciones.

Entry with children

Single parent/relative travelling with children should be aware that Argentina requires evidence that both parents have given permission for the child to enter/leave the country.

Entry with pets

Importing dogs and cats for non-commercial purposes: they must have been vaccinated against rabies between 30 days and 12 months before arrival. An accredited vet from your home country must also complete the Certificado Veterinario de la Argentina (Argentine Veterinary Certificate) and include a copy of the rabies vaccine certificate.
